THE GOAL:

A long-lived life.

My longevity goal is 120 - how about yours?

The Journey begins here.

Have you every asked anyone how long they expect to live? I do quite often, and it’s always interesting to hear the variety of responses. Most people are surprised when I tell them my longevity goal — 120 years young! And right along with that goal, I plan to be upright, self-sufficient and generally looking forward to the next stage of growth — that being on the other side of the galaxy.

Of course with such a lofty goal, there is a lot of preparation to do long before I get to my elder years, or whatever you call them. Life is a journey, and like any journey, it can be full of unexpected twists and turns. Admittedly, I am not in actual control. I may want to live to 120 but there’s no guarantee. But I also know there’s one absolute thing we all have control over — our attitude. No matter what life’s journey includes, our attitude makes all the difference in the outcome and results. And I believe that attitude is everything when it comes to living a long life.

There are so many mistaken ideas about aging: way too many stereotypes; a ton of misguided expectations. So I’m always searching for ways to break those down. That’s why I decided to start this blog. I have no expectations about who will read it (maybe no one), but it sure helps me to write about it, and in the process maybe I can offer some helpful advice to anyone who does choose to read it.
